KANSEI DIVERSITIES A MEDITERRANEAN EXPERIENCE

The Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya | BarcelonaTech and the Societies of the Kansei Engineering and Emotion Research (KEER) have the great pleasure to invite you to the KEER International Conference, in Barcelona, on September 5-8th, 2022. This conference gathers researchers, practitioners and industries from the world focusing on kansei research and development, and related topics. It is an openminded, interdisciplinary, intercultural, friendly conference. It is therefore rather a welcoming conference, for people led by curiosity, new ideas, learning individuals, rather than selective one, while expecting international standard scientific quality of the proceedings. It aims to contribute to the progress of kansei knowledge and to the development of the kansei community in the world.

For this edition, the conference adopts a hybrid organization based on the experience gained throughout the past months of Covid-19 related sanitary conditions. We envision an onsite conference while ensuring the smooth running of the conference in case it must be online.

The hosting city, Barcelona, is bathed by the Mediterranean Sea. Since ancient times, the Mediterranean has been a link between the East and the West, between the South and the North, and a way to share knowledge, technology and skills among very diverse peoples and cultures. Therefore, this edition of KEER will revolve around the notion of diversities. Diversities of cultures, diversities of practices, diversities of perspectives, diversities of places, diversities of experiences. These diversities and their encounters are sources of richness. Understanding and experimenting with diversities in mind leads towards a greater comprehension of kansei. With this in mind, we hope discussion to encourage the consideration of diversities as an encounter, bringing us together on the topic of kansei.

Please consider submitting your research interests and your participation to KEER2020. Looking forwards meeting you in Barcelona and/or online for a new world event around kansei.
